This hotel complex on the island of Santiago, Cape Verde, was built built between 2005 and 2009. The design is based on the the traditional building style of the Portuguese colonial period, known as “Sobrado”. With its urban villa character, it is reminiscent of the architecture of the former capital of Brazil, Salvador, and blends harmoniously into the cultural and historical surroundings. I developed the design for this project in close collaboration with my father.
