From 2014 to 2015, SPL, lda planned and managed the construction of the new high school center IGS Lubango and Namibe in Angola. This project marked an important milestone in my career, as it was my first project on the African mainland and gave me the opportunity to apply my experience from Germany and Cape Verde to a new environment. The project was realized in close collaboration with SPL, lda and architect Luis Pires. As before, my focus was on the design of the new building.

The client had clear requirements: A rectangular building with a central atrium that was to be both functional and inviting. In addition, it was essential to adapt the construction method to the humid tropical climate in order to ensure sustainable and comfortable use. Working in a region previously unknown to me required an intensive examination of local conditions and materials, which made this project a valuable and enriching experience.
The building is located in Namibe, Angola.
